Satyam School of Journalism & Mass Communication, affiliated with SNDT Women’s University, organised its annual media fest ‘IGNITE 2K25’ on December 19 with great enthusiasm and participation. The theme of the fest, “Heritage Rising: Reviving Our Legacy,” beautifully showcased the fusion of Indian cultural heritage with contemporary media practices.

The event witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, media professionals, and distinguished guests. The fest reflected the institution’s vision of nurturing students with professional media training while grounding them in strong cultural values.

The event was graced by eminent dignitaries including Advocate Seema Kushwaha, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court and former BSP spokesperson; Shri Durga Nath Swankar, Assistant Director and Officer on Special Duty, Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India; and Shri Kanchan Azad, Joint Secretary, Delhi Legislative Assembly. The guests shared insightful perspectives on the role of media, law, and governance in today’s society.

The media fest featured a wide range of competitions including RJ Hunt, Walk of Fashion, Click-O-Mania (Photography), Footloose (Group Dance), Step Up (Solo Dance), Halla Bol (Street Play), Saptak (Solo Singing), and FlickIt (Mobile Filmmaking). Students showcased exceptional creativity and talent across these events.

Several well-known personalities from the media and healthcare sectors also marked their presence. Radio Jockey Aman from Red FM energized the students through engaging interactions, while Dr. Rahul Gupta, Senior Director and Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Fortis Hospital, Noida, spoke about the importance of accurate and effective communication in healthcare services.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sneh Singh, Chairperson, Satyam Group of Institutions, said,

“IGNITE 2K25 is not just a media fest; it is a celebration of ideas, creativity, and our cultural consciousness. Through the ‘Heritage Rising’ theme, we aimed to inspire students to integrate Indian values with modern media practices. I am proud of our students and faculty for creating a platform that promotes creativity, ethical journalism, and professional excellence.”

Adding a cultural touch to the fest, renowned Hindustani classical and devotional singer Dr. Saroj Mishra emphasized the need to preserve India’s rich musical heritage and encouraged students to connect traditional art forms with modern media platforms.
