A 35-member Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) and EdTech delegation representing 24 companies is in New Delhi this week to explore new opportunities for collaboration with India’s rapidly evolving education and skilling ecosystem.

The delegation includes a diverse mix of Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), TAFEs, non-university higher education providers, audio-visual system providers, and education management organisations. The group is showcasing Australia’s skilling expertise as part of the Australia Pavilion at DIDAC India 2025.

The initiative is led by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) in partnership with Global Victoria, Investment New South Wales, and Trade and Investment Queensland.

During the week, the delegation is engaging with Indian government agencies, industry bodies, and education institutions to identify collaboration opportunities in future-ready curriculum design, scalable technology-enabled training, and pathways for lifelong learning.

Speaking about the visit, Mr. Vik Singh, Trade and Investment Commissioner, Austrade, said:
“Education is a strong pillar in our bilateral relationship. Australia’s strengths in industry-focused vocational education align closely with India’s national priorities in skill development, employability, and education reform. By organising this delegation, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening Australia–India collaboration in skills development.”

Globally recognised for its industry-driven and high-quality VET system, Australia brings robust regulatory frameworks, flexible delivery models, and deep education–industry linkages. Australian providers have demonstrated capability in delivering scalable, work-integrated learning across both urban and regional settings.

Singh also highlighted that skilling collaboration adds a new dimension to the already strong bilateral ties in education and workforce mobility. Australian universities are setting up campuses in India, while dual-degree programs with Indian institutions continue to grow. With Australia’s proven skilling expertise and India’s scale, the partnership promises significant benefits for Indian learners seeking advanced and future-ready skills
