Athena Education made its Hyderabad debut with its flagship workshop, “Secrets to Ivy League Admissions,” held at ITC Kohenur according to a release from the Gurgaon-based study abroad consultancy. Led by Princeton alumni Rahul Subramaniam (Co-Founder) and Jared Griffin (Creative Director), the session brought together students and parents from across the city for an in-depth masterclass on what it truly takes to gain admission into the world’s most prestigious universities.
The workshop offered families a clear understanding of the highly selective admissions process at institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and Yale. Students were guided through the essential qualities that define standout applicants, with a strong emphasis on intellectual curiosity, research-driven exploration, and long-term extracurricular commitment. The session also stressed the importance of authenticity in essays and personal storytelling, while highlighting the common missteps Indian applicants often make.
Reflecting on the session, Rahul Subramaniam, Co-Founder of Athena Education and mentor to more than 220 Ivy League and Oxbridge admits, said, “Hyderabad has always been a city of ambition, and the turnout reaffirmed that. What students often need is not more pressure, but more clarity. Our goal was to strip away the myths and give families a real understanding of what top universities value – originality, purpose, and sustained commitment. When students build their journeys with intention rather than imitation, they stand out naturally.”
Jared Griffin, Creative Director at Athena and fellow Princeton alumnus, added, “There is a growing curiosity among Indian students about the global admissions process, but also a lot of misinformation. Through this workshop, we wanted to show families that elite universities are not looking for perfection, they are looking for depth, individuality, and intellectual curiosity. Helping students articulate who they are and what they care about is at the heart of successful applications.”
