College Board, known for its SAT® exam and AP® program, has announced that registrations for the 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) exams are open until 15th November 2024, allowing students in India to secure their spot. The AP program, known for its rigorous curriculum and diverse course offerings, provides a valuable opportunity for students to distinguish themselves in the competitive landscape of university admissions, both domestically and internationally.
Furthermore, the adoption of AP scores for college credit is gaining traction in India, with Universal AI University, Karjat, Mumbai, recently becoming the first Indian university to accept AP credits officially.

Key Details on AP Registration and Exam Process:
- Registration Deadline: 15th November 2024
- Exam Schedule: AP exams will be administered in AP-authorized schools and test centers from May 5th to 9th and May 12th to 16th, 2025. The complete schedule can be viewed on the College Board website.
- Test Centers: AP exams in India are managed by authorized test centers across the country, offering flexible options for students. Students should contact their preferred center for registration, fees, deadlines, and other details. A list of authorized centers is availablehere.
- Digital AP Exams: The College Board will offer 28 AP exams digitally, with 16 being fully digital and 12 in a hybrid format. Students are required to bring their own approved devices. More details can be foundhere.
AP Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, and most U.S. and Canadian colleges grant credit and/or advanced placement for scores of 3 and above. AP exams scores are also used in admissions globally. The composite scores are calculated from both multiple-choice and free-response sections, reflecting consistent achievement year after year. This rigorous assessment process allows students to demonstrate their understanding and mastery of subjects, ensuring they are well-prepared for their academic journeys.
