The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program offered by Acharya Bangalore B-School (ABBS), Bengaluru, has received accreditation from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The AIU accreditation is valid for three years, from March 7, 2024, to March 7, 2027, subject to continued AICTE approval and SAQS accreditation.
AIU is a national inter-university organization in India, and its recognition allows these programs to be considered equivalent to university-granted degrees like MBA. It is a mark of quality, indicating that a program meets high educational standards. This helps maintain consistency across different institutions and programs.
The AIU accreditation for ABBS’s PGDM program signifies several important aspects:
- Equivalent to MBA: The PGDM program is now recognized as equivalent to an MBA degree from an Indian University, allowing graduates to pursue further studies, including Ph.D. programs.
- Quality Assurance: This accreditation validates the high standards of education provided by ABBS, ensuring that the curriculum meets the rigorous requirements set by AIU.
- National and International Recognition: AIU accreditation enhances the credibility of the PGDM program, providing graduates with improved opportunities both within India and internationally.
Speaking on this new milestone, Ajitesh Basani, Executive Director-Administration at ABBS, stated, “This AIU recognition is a testament to our commitment to providing world-class management education. It significantly enhances the value of our PGDM program and opens up new avenues for our students in their academic and professional pursuits. Looking ahead, this accreditation motivates us to set even higher standards for ourselves. It’s not just about maintaining our current level of excellence, but continuously raising the bar. We’re already exploring ways to further enrich our curriculum, enhance our industry connections, and provide even more value to our students.”
