The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) Dwarka campus commemorated country’s 78th Independence Day with a grand and memorable celebration. The campus, adorned in vibrant hues of saffron, white, and green, was a tribute to the spirit of freedom and unity, reflecting the rich heritage of the nation.

The festivities began early in the morning with the hoisting of the Indian tricolour by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ashok Kumar Nagawat. The national anthem’s resonant melody filled the air, evoking a deep sense of pride and nostalgia for the sacrifices made by India’s freedom fighters. The celebrations beautifully encapsulated the essence of patriotism, unity, and progress. The day left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all who attended, reinforcing the spirit of independence and a shared commitment to a brighter future.

In his address, Prof. Nagawat acknowledged the importance of Independence Day, a day of great pride and reflection for our nation. He reflected on the journey of the nation since independence, acknowledging the progress and challenges, and highlighted the role of education in shaping the future of the nation. He also urged the students and faculty to be active participants in addressing the current challenges facing the nation, such as environmental sustainability, climate change, social justice, and emphasized the pursuit of knowledge, and innovation as tools to further the nation’s development. He discussed the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on various sectors, and emphasized AI’s potential to drive innovation, and solutions to complex societal challenges. He drew attention on the significance of cutting-edge programs such as Prompt Engineering, that hold potential to equip students with the coveted skills. Lastly, he expressed his confidence in the institution’s ability to lead in these transformative times, contributing to the nation’s progress and global standing.

The event featured an array of performances by students, showcasing India’s diverse traditions through captivating dance, music, and theatrical presentations. The audience was enchanted by the colourful displays, intricate choreography, and emotive performances, which celebrated the nation’s rich cultural tapestry.

The event concluded with a collective pledge by students, faculty, and staff, followed by a vote of thanks from the esteemed Campus Director of DSEU Dwarka campus, Dr. Kavita Khanna. She expressed gratitude for the collective efforts in making the celebration a success, acknowledging the unwavering dedication of the faculty, staff, and students, encouraging everyone to continue striving for excellence in all their endeavors. Lastly, she reiterated the importance of shared commitment to institutional and national development.
