The British Council, the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, is set to host the Northern England Universities Showcase in Delhi on 12 October 2026, bringing together representatives and delegates from leading universities across Northern England. The event will give prospective students and their parents an opportunity to explore courses, study options, scholarships and university life, while speaking directly with university representatives about applications and studying in the UK.
The showcase will offer an interactive experience beyond traditional university fairs, with engaging talks, live demonstrations, quizzes and immersive experiences. Students can explore how AI represents people, cultures and identities with the University of Leeds, experience VR and discover its role in learning and employability with the University of Salford, explore Manchester’s music scene with the Royal Northern College of Music, and reflect on their future study and career choices with York St John University.
Participating institutions include Manchester Metropolitan University, Royal Northern College of Music, The University of Manchester, University of Salford, Sheffield Hallam University and University of Leeds, alongside other universities from Northern England.
Students attending the showcase can also learn more about scholarship opportunities, including the GREAT Scholarships 2027, with four of the participating Greater Manchester universities (Manchester Metropolitan University, Royal Northern College of Music, The University of Manchester and University of Salford) offering scholarships under the programme.
