WEneurs Forum, a not-for-profit organisation focused on nurturing entrepreneurship, particularly among women, launched Project Saksham, a three-month entrepreneurship acceleration programme aimed at empowering underprivileged women micro-entrepreneurs across the Delhi-NCR region.
Project Saksham is designed for women entrepreneurs from Delhi-NCR with an annual income of less than ₹10 lakh. Under the programme, a cohort of 25–30 shortlisted entrepreneurs will receive 10 days of hands-on entrepreneurship training, followed by one-to-one and group mentoring sessions. The programme will culminate in a Pitchathon, providing participants with an opportunity to present their business ideas and growth plans. The top three participants will receive grant awards of up to ₹50,000.
The launch event featured a welcome address by Dr. Manisha Acharya, Founder & Managing Director, WEneurs Forum, followed by a special address by Prof. K. Biswal, Professor, NIEPA. Mrs. Jaya Goyal, Chairperson, Women’s Wing, IAmSMEofIndia, attended as the Guest of Honour, while Dr. (Ms.) Poonam Sinha, Director, NIESBUD, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ms. Deepali Singh, Director, WEneurs Forum, elaborated on the programme structure, objectives and opportunities for participating entrepreneurs.
The launch also marked the official opening of applications for Project Saksham, followed by an interactive session that enabled participating women entrepreneurs to engage with the programme organisers, partners and fellow entrepreneurs.
The programme was launched at the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) and witnessed the participation of more than 70 women micro-entrepreneurs. Supported by InfoEdge CSR, Project Saksham brings together a network of outreach and knowledge partners, including Vyomini, Odisha Chamber of Commerce, Indigram Labs Foundation, Hunnar, Apnaa Konaa Creative Foundation, Anveshan Foundation and ASPIRE LAB.
