Delhi-based Niramaya Research, a nonprofit foundation promoting research in the medical field, has launched a competition “Research India” to arouse interest in new research among the students associated with the medical field and to increase their attention towards new experiments being done in the world of science.

The competition is open for all 550 medical colleges and hundreds of other Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Dental colleges across India to participate.. The last date of application is 15th July while the last date of submission of the report is 10th August. Three outstanding entries will be awarded with scholarships of one lakh, seventy five thousand and fifty thousand respectively.

Viveksheel  Agarwal, Chairman, Niramaya Research said, “We have invited research on two topics namely relation of cancer to oxidative stress increased by paracetamol and the second is Oxidative stress increased by processed food is related to autoimmune diseases. It is our endeavor to keep introducing such topics which are of paramount importance for medical science to evolve better. We also want to increase the participation of Indian students towards their contribution to medical science by providing insightful approaches through their latest research”.

He further added that cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world today and the expenditure on treatment of autoimmune diseases arising from the deterioration of the homeostasis of the body is the most expensive. With the increase in the number of these patients, the financial condition of the families is also being affected greatly in their treatment. Therefore, finding the causes of these diseases is more important than their treatment so that new patients can be reduced. It is our endeavor to remove the shortcomings of our medical infrastructure and system through research.
