Noida-based The Design Village (TDV) has officially launched its European campus in Italy—becoming the first design institute from Asia to establish a dedicated academic presence in the country. The move marks a significant shift in how Indian design education engages with global systems, positioning itself not just as a participant but as a contributor to international creative discourse.
The newly launched Italy campus offers students immersive exposure to European design heritage while encouraging cross-cultural exchange and interdisciplinary thinking in real-world settings.
The Design Village (TDV) has also introduced a strategic collaboration with Adobe, making it among the first design institutes in India to formally integrate Adobe Creative Cloud and Firefly generative AI into its core pedagogy. This integration brings industry-standard tools directly into the learning ecosystem while placing equal emphasis on ethical AI usage, authorship, and responsible design—shifting the focus from software proficiency to critical thinking and intent-driven creativity.
Speaking on the launch event, Antonio Bartoli, Ambassador of Italy to India, remarked, ” Another meaningful chapter in the collaboration and friendship between Italy and India. An initiative that reflects the value of talent and skills mobility. It promotes design as a driver of social transformation across key sectors: mobility, sustainability, and urban regeneration. Three words to welcome and celebrate the launch of Design Village Campus in Italy. Creativity, innovation, dialogue. A concrete testament to the role of young people and universities as bridges between cultures. “
Sourabh Gupta, Founder of The Design Village (TDV), said, “This expansion reflects a deeper academic shift. By bringing together global exposure, interdisciplinary learning, and access to advanced tools, we are preparing students to engage with complex, real-world challenges in meaningful ways.”
Adding to this, Mridu Sahai Patnaik, Co-founder of The Design Village, said, “Our vision has always been to create designers who think beyond outputs. With our presence in Italy and collaboration with Adobe, we are building an ecosystem where ideas, ethics, and innovation coexist—preparing students for a future that demands both sensitivity and global perspective. This approach emphasises the responsible and ethical use of AI, reinforcing our commitment to shaping designers who leverage technology with accountability and purpose.”
