The 9th edition of the North East Cultural Fest—titled ‘Belliatus’— recently organized by Sharda University, Greater Noida, showcased the diverse and rich culture of Northeast India. The event aimed at fostering understanding and connection among students was inaugurated by university’s Pro-Chancellor Y.K. Gupta, Executive Director Prashant Gupta, Ms. Priyanka Jain, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sibaram Khara, Dr. Rajiv Gupta, and other distinguished guests.
The program featured vibrant cultural performances, traditional art and handicraft exhibitions, and stalls offering special Northeast Indian cuisine, which were highly appreciated by the attendees. During the fest, Director PR Dr. Ajit Kumar, Registrar Dr. Vivek Gupta, Dr. R.C. Singh, Dr. Pramod Kumar, Deputy Director Ahtesham, along with deans, heads, faculty members, staff, and students from all schools were present.
Currently, more than 2,000 students from the Northeast are studying at Sharda University, whose participation made the event even more special. Additionally, the presence of over 2,500 international students from more than 95 countries highlighted the campus’s diversity. During the event, some notable personalities who promote Northeast culture and heritage were also honored.
Chief Guest Mr. Ashwani Kumar Chand (IPS), Commissioner of Sikkim House, said,
“Northeast Cultural Fest 2026 is a wonderful platform to connect our rich culture and traditions with the rest of the country. Northeast India is known for its diversity, colors, and heritage, and the students here have presented it beautifully. Such platforms strengthen mutual understanding, respect, and unity. I am delighted that Sharda University is playing a role in bringing the nation closer through such initiatives.”
