The International Education group at Cambridge University Press & Assessment (Cambridge) has announced the winners of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards in India celebrating the academic achievements of secondary school learners in India in the November 2024, March and June 2025 Cambridge examination series and are accompanied by the opportunity to win up to eight university scholarships from two leading UK Russell Group institutions.
Over 227 students in India will receive awards for exceptional performance in Cambridge IGCSE™, International AS & A Level examinations, including 86 students who achieved the highest marks in the world and 107 students who attained the highest marks in India in a single subject. In India, 85% of the students who have excelled in the ‘Top in World’ Award category are from Mathematics, Science and English disciplines. We’ve also seen increase in demand for foreign languages like Spanish, German, French, Chinese and Arabic in AS & A levels
The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards programme celebrates the success of students taking examinations awarded by Cambridge International Education in over 40 countries around the world. Cambridge qualifications prepare and equip learners with the skills they need to thrive at university and beyond. The world’s best higher education institutions recognise Cambridge qualifications and value the critical thinking skills, independent research abilities and deep subject knowledge that Cambridge learners bring to university.
Vinay Sharma, Regional Director, South Asia for International Education at Cambridge said: “These awards recognise the highest levels of performance worldwide and honour not only learners, but also the vital support of their teachers and parents.”
The awards also celebrate the achievements of those learners who have been recognised for ‘High Achievement’, based on outstanding performance in subjects which are not yet so widely taken in India, and learners who have achieved the total highest cumulative marks across a number of subjects. The winning students out-performed thousands of candidates worldwide who sat Cambridge examinations.
The ceremony was attended by two branch campuses of UK universities.
