Global Indian International School, Hadapsar (Pune) hosted the marathon 2025 – Hum Honge Kamyab – at its campus on Dec 12, bringing together over 550 participants, including students, parents, teachers, and partners, for a vibrant morning that celebrated fitness, resilience, and community spirit. The event also highlighted the school’s cause for the year, “Run for a Greener Tomorrow.”

The marathon began with an inaugural ceremony where the Chief Guest, Mr. Arvind Kumar Baranwal, Superintendent, Central Goods and Services Tax, Pune-I Commissionerate, was honoured. The school also felicitated its Health Partner,

Mr. Narendra, Owner of Shaavi Polyclinic, Amanora, and its Fitness Partner, Mr. Aditya, Owner of Alpha Fitness Gym, Amanora Fern. The ceremony concluded with the lighting of the lamp to mark the official start of the event.

The marathon saw participation of more than 550 runners, aged between 3 and 70 years, who took part in the 11 km, 7 km, 5 km, 3 km, and 1 km runs. Participants across all categories showed great enthusiasm and determination as they completed their respective distances.

The event saw impressive performances across all groups. Abhay Pore and Trisha Parihar won the 11 km run, Sarang Walke and Darshita Agarwal secured first place in the 7 km run, and Pratik Athwale and Aditi Bhade emerged as the winners in the 5 km category. Winners of the 3 km and 1 km runs included Samarth Kulkarni, Akira Mudumadigela, and Ishanvi Mundhe, respectively. Ms. Jyoti Jain won in the Above 40 – 11 km group. Special mentions were awarded to participants who displayed outstanding effort and spirit.

The campus remained lively throughout the morning as students and families explored a range of engaging activity zones, including prize counters, a trampoline zone, nail art, tattoo corners, colouring stations, and food stalls. A dedicated book corner with a reading space promoted early reading habits among young readers, while promotional stalls added to the festive community spirit. Specially designed photo corners also drew enthusiastic participation, capturing the joy and excitement of the event.

Dr. Vijay Parihar, Principal, Global Indian International School Hadapsar, said, “The marathon reflects the values we aim to instil in our students — commitment, resilience, and the confidence to take on challenges with a positive spirit. It was encouraging to see students and parents participate with such sincerity and enthusiasm, which speaks to the strong value system that guides our school community.”
