InterGlobe Foundation, the philanthropic arm of InterGlobe Enterprises, has announced the launch of the fourth edition of InterGlobe HERITAGE Fellowships. This year, the program focuses on the ‘associated intangible heritage’ and ‘associated craft traditions’ linked to significant built heritage sites across India. Applications are now open, inviting researchers, journalists, architects, and creative practitioners to explore and document India’s rich cultural legacy.

The InterGlobe HERITAGE Fellowships 2025 aim to inspire individuals to look beyond the architectural elements of built heritage sites, encouraging them to explore these sites as vibrant, living archives, rich with artistic and cultural narratives. Following jury selection, the fellows will get the opportunity to research and document the intangible dimensions around a heritage site, such as documenting communities, craft practices, rituals, traditions, etc. The submission could be in various formats, including photo essays, word essays, illustrations, and other creative expressions. The Fellowship duration ranges from three to six months, depending on the scope of the project and the end deliverables.

Rohini Bhatia, Chairperson, InterGlobe Foundation, said, “The fourth edition of the InterGlobe HERITAGE Fellowships builds on the success of our previous programs. The focus on intangible heritage and craft traditions is particularly exciting as it allows us to uncover and celebrate the cultural practices that breathe life into our built heritage. We believe these fellowships not only contribute significantly to the documentation and preservation of India’s diverse cultural tapestry but also inspire a deeper appreciation for the stories and traditions that define our nation.”

InterGlobe Foundation launched the InterGlobe HERITAGE Fellowships in 2022 to strengthen its heritage conservation efforts. This initiative has since provided a platform for individuals from diverse backgrounds to explore and raise awareness about the richness and diversity of India’s cultural legacy. It has enabled them to research and document previously unexplored aspects of Indian heritage and culture through the medium of articles, essays and photographs. Past projects include: “Through the Eyes of Bhand Pather: A Folk Theatre Legacy in Family Photo Archives and Musical Practices in the Valley of Kashmir”; “Documenting the Rituals and Oral Traditions of the Rudranath Temple”; “Reviving the Art of Ghat Chhatris of Varanasi”; “Traditions of Belonging: Tribal Life and the Jatharas of Telangana”; “Reviving the Lesser Known and Sidelined Musical Instruments – Shreekhol, Taus and Nafiri”; and “Beyond the Geological Magnanimity: Cultural Landscape of Lonar Crater”.

The last date to apply for this year’s Fellowship is August 24, 2025. For more information on the program, eligibility criteria, and to apply, please visit: www.interglobe.com/the-interglobe-heritage-fellowships-2025
