IIITD Innovation & Incubation Center (IIITD-IC) is set to host Hack4Health – The HealthTech Hackathon on 15–16 July 2025, a national-level innovation challenge aimed at identifying impactful, AI-driven solutions to pressing healthcare problems. Sponsored by HORIBA India under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the event brings together students, professionals, and technologists committed to transforming healthcare delivery through data and technology.

Hack4Health has been designed as a multi-phase engagement, beginning with an online pitch submission round that was open from 25 May to 07 June 2025. During this phase, participating teams submitted 3–5-minute video pitches describing their proposed solution, supported by a maximum of 10 presentation slides. The submissions were evaluated based on clarity, creativity, feasibility, and relevance to real-world healthcare needs. Shortlisted teams have been notified and are now gearing up for the in-person hackathon round to be held at the IIIT-Delhi campus, located in Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi.

The offline round, scheduled for 8:30 AM on 15 July to 4:00 PM on 16 July, will see teams of 3–4 members competing in a fast-paced innovation sprint. On the day of the event, problem statements will be revealed, and participants will have 36 hours to develop functional prototypes and present their ideas to a panel of expert judges from academia, healthcare, and industry. While not mandatory, teams were encouraged to include a medical student to strengthen the domain relevance of their solutions.

Sharing the motivation behind the initiative, Ms. Jyoti Sharma, CEO of IIITD Innovation & Incubation Center, said, “Hack4Health reflects our belief that meaningful innovation happens when domain knowledge meets technology. This hackathon is more than a competition—it’s a launchpad for impactful ideas that can translate into scalable solutions. We’re excited to provide a platform where young innovators can engage with real healthcare challenges and access mentorship from the best minds in tech and medicine.”

The central theme for this year’s hackathon is “AI and Data-Driven Solutions for Healthcare”, focusing on challenges in diagnostics, mental health, preventive care, hospital innovation, and assistive technologies. IIITD-IC, the organizing body, is known for enabling deep-tech entrepreneurship and providing startups with mentorship, infrastructure, and technical guidance. Speaking about the initiative, the team at IIITD-IC shared that Hack4Health reflects their commitment to applying advanced technology to socially meaningful areas and creating a space for collaboration between engineers, designers, and medical professionals.

The event offers prizes worth ₹4 lakhs, with awards for the top three winners (₹80,000, ₹50,000, and ₹30,000 respectively), two runner-up teams (₹20,000 each), and certificates, merchandise, and goodies for all offline round participants. Organizers believe the real value lies not just in the prizes but in the exposure, networking, and mentorship opportunities made available through the hackathon.

Focusing on the theme of “AI and Data-Driven Solutions for Healthcare,” Hack4Health seeks to spark meaningful innovation where cutting-edge technology meets real-world health challenges. The team at IIITD-IC envisions the hackathon as a catalyst for building a future-ready innovation ecosystem in India—one that encourages interdisciplinary thinking and socially impactful problem-solving. Open to diverse teams from across the country, the event is designed to foster hands-on collaboration, creative exploration, and learning. With strong interest from academic institutions, emerging startups, and healthcare technologists, Hack4Health is set to emerge as a flagship initiative demonstrating how academia and industry can come together to drive scalable, high-impact solutions in the health tech space.
