Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), in collaboration with the Edunet Foundation and Shell India has launched Skills4Future, a transformative program aimed at empowering the state’s youth with future-ready skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cleaner technologies. The program’s initial phase will cover over 25,000 students, further solidifying Tamil Nadu’s position as a premier hub for technological innovation and sustainable development.
In its first year, Edunet Foundation will establish six digital and electric vehicle training labs in select engineering colleges. Supported by Shell India’s CSR initiative, these labs will serve as centers of excellence for experiential learning featuring hackathons, innovation competitions, and training modules.
Skills4Future program offers a comprehensive curriculum aligned with TNSDC’s credit-based framework. Students will get an opportunity to opt for a 50-hour foundation course and a 140 to 160-hour advanced course. Both courses emphasize practical applications in AI and cleaner technologies, designed to meet the evolving demands of the global workforce.
A key pillar of the program is the Faculty Development Program (FDP), where industry experts will train educators in the latest advancements in AI and cleaner technologies. Beyond enhancing faculty expertise, this initiative ensures their ongoing readiness to adapt to technological shifts, equipping them with up-to-date skills to deliver effective and future-proof training, thereby ensuring both long-term impact and the sustained evolution of skill development in the state.
Speaking on the partnership, Nagesh Singh, Chairman, Edunet Foundation, said, “This partnership with TNSDC and Shell India is a pivotal step in preparing Tamil Nadu’s future workforce with the skills necessary for Industry 4.0. With AI and cleaner technologies shaping the future, the Skills4Future program will feed students and professionals with knowledge that drives both employability and
sustainability.”

Tamil Nadu’s emergence as a key destination for AI-driven industries and global investments underscores the importance of developing a skilled talent pipeline. The Skills4Future program addresses this need through its focus on innovation, practical learning, and industry collaboration.
