The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), in collaboration with ed-tech platform CoLLearn and Shikhar Dhawan’s DA One Sports, is all set to launch skilling for cricket coaches across India to enhance their capability to mentor players across various levels.

The Cricket Coach Education Programme is a collaborative effort where NSDC will facilitate workshops to raise awareness about the programme and provide skill loans to all the eligible candidates for this initiative. CoLLearn Education Technologies will be responsible for organizing classes and providing placement support to the students, while DA One Sports, which works on creating a grassroots sporting ecosystem, will focus on student assessments and all-round field training.

Talking about the initiative, Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Managing Director, NSDC International (NSDCI), said, “This initiative is not just about enhancing technical skills; it’s about fostering a culture of excellence that prepares coaches to mentor players effectively at all levels. As the demand for skilled trainers in the sports industry continues to grow, it is imperative that we elevate the standards of coaching in cricket. By integrating modern coaching techniques that evolve with time, we are equipping our coaches with the necessary tools to thrive in a competitive environment. This program aims to empower aspiring coaches, ensuring they are well-prepared to contribute to the vibrant and evolving landscape of Indian sports.”

Participants in the program will gain a thorough understanding of essential cricket techniques, while the curriculum emphasizes practical coaching skills through drills and strategies designed to enhance the performance of the players and foster strong team dynamics. The coaches will also be trained in injury prevention strategies to implement during game sessions to promote player safety and well-being. A significant aspect of the program is the integration of cricket analytics, equipping coaches with the tools and techniques to monitor and improve the performance of the players effectively.

Speaking about the tie-up, CoLLearn’s Srishty Jain said, “Our Cricket Coach Education Program is more than just training—it’s about creating leaders who can inspire and nurture the next generation of cricketers. With expert mentorship, cutting-edge sports analytics, and a focus on soft skills, we’re equipping aspiring coaches with everything they need to excel in this competitive field. This program, certified by NSDC, CoLLearn, and Shikhar Dhawan’s Da One Sports, is a game-changer for those passionate about turning their love for cricket into a fulfilling profession.”

In addition to technical coaching skills, the program provides valuable insights into career development in the sports industry. Participants will receive guidance on resume building and interview preparation, positioning them for advancement within the sports industry. The course concludes in an assessment phase that includes feedback and mentorship, ensuring that the newly trained coaches are equipped with the right skills and techniques, which helps them to grow and succeed in their roles.
